How to set Mac to always save everything to the desktop?
Please clarify "everything."
Do you mean "everything downloaded from the internet using a browser?"
Yes. When an option asks me to Save I would like to save to the desktop.
You don't want to save stuff to your Desktop. Having a ton of icons on the desktop will actually slow your Mac down, because it's trying to render all of them at once. One or two won't hurt, but if you're careless for a while, it gets pretty cumbersome.
The reason i do that is so i can save it to a file on the DT because most of what i save is only temporary, plus if i want to print or email i don't have to look for it.It's just a Windows thing.
If using Firefox, just go to Firefox > Preferences > General, and set it there.
Thanks. I will switch to FF.
You can do that in Safari too.
Safari- preferences- General- Save downloaded files to- Change that.
click on select folder>click on scroll arrow at top select users>desktop click open then click on box >always open in. Or just right click on downloads folder make alias and drag that to desktop.
