how do you take screen shots??? which button is it?

cmd-shift-3 full screen to desktop as a pdf

cmd-shift-4 lets you select the rectangle, then saves to desktop as pdf

There are other key combos for putting the capture to the clipboard. There's also the Grab program in Applications/Utilities which will do other things, including saving the capture in a format other than pdf. Finally, you can also do a screencapture -c from the Terminal.

Also, Command + Shift + 4 and press down the spacebar and you can capture images of separate windows, the top menu bar, the desktop, the Dock, etc.
