    Hi everyone,

Here's what I'd like to do; I want to be able to generate an MD5 sum for all of the files in a given folder and its subfiles, and then take files with matching MD5s and generate links for the files.

I attempted to do this in Automator, but the best I could get was all of the MD5s printed to a text file. I'm not adept enough to take it to the next step and take the matching MD5s and link them. I'm not entirely sure how feasible (or easy) this would be, so if it's not going to be a simple undertaking, then I can take no for an answer.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I found a program to do what I wanted. "Hard link by MD5" isn't as powerful of a search as "duplicate file cleanup" apparently.

Here's the program in case anyone in the future is looking for something like this: Dupe Guru
