Hey,

I connected a 19" PC monitor to my newish (few months old) 2.1 GhZ PowerPC G5 iMac with 10.4.7 using the adapter.

When the computer loaded up, the image was mirrored on the 2nd monitor. I went to the help to have the 2nd monitor run as an extended desktop. It says

"Open System Preferences and click Displays.
Click Arrangement and follow the onscreen instructions."

I went to Displays in Sys Pref. but I cannot find the Arrangement tab ANYWHERE. I have been looking for 15+ mins trying absolutely everything I can think of.

Can someone please let me know what I'm doing wrong and where I can change this setting so that I can run an extended desktop. This would be most helpful for my work.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

The G5 iMacs don't support screen spanning out of the box, do they?

I think you have to install the screen spanning hack in order to do it...use at your own risk. I believe the built-in extended desktop mode was added with the Intel switch.

Thanks for the info! The Apple salesman told me I could hook up my monitor with no problems .... :(

I installed the screen spanning hack and it seems to be working awesome.

Thanks again
