Seeking Advice About Factory Reset

Hi there,
I have an iPad 2 version 9.2.1 and I have been considering doing a factory reset as a way to spring clean it.
Does any body have any advice or experience doing this, I'd love to learn from other peoples experience first and hopefully avoid making any fatal mistakes.

Take a Back Up > Restore iPad > Restore Back Up.
