I know when they air sometimes his shows (Family Guy, American Dad! & The Cleaveland Show) have swear words or edits to make it more appropiate. So I was wondering does iTunes sell the uncensored version DVD of the shows or the censored broadcast version?

I don't think there are any uncensored versions...DVD/BR/downloads/rentals are the episodes, as aired, aren't they?

I know that the DVDs are for sure uncensored.

There was an unaired episode in season 8. The only place I could find it was usenet, but it will probably be something to come on DVD...

Are you sure? All I could find about that was special features having some uncensored content and one DVD release entitled: "Family Guy Uncovered" which, by nature of the title, includes 14 uncensored episodes.

EDIT: I did see some info for the season 7 release that let's you hear the uncensored audio...I suppose through a seperate audio/language playback.

Maybe Season 7 on allows you to do this?

The earlier seasons as well because I have a couple on DVD. Not pre-cancellation though, because the show wasn't nearly as vulgar back then. But I guess if iTunes did sell em uncensored they'd advertise that fact like they did for South Park and The Boondocks.

So I've confirmed that iTunes does in fact sell the censored version of Family Guy (haven't confirmed the rest, but they're most likely likewise censored). In the episode "Road to the Multiverse" on iTunes Stewie & Brian are in a political cartoon universe and Brian is agreeing with some over the top liberal cartoon and Stewie tell hims to shut the ******* up. On the DVD it's not bleeped out while on iTunes it is.

It's a shame because iTunes is the only place to get these shows in HD, but I don't wanna watch them with those annoying bleeps.

i know this is sort of irrelevant and doesn't help you (sorry!) but i personally think it's funnier with the bleeps. same with arrested development. i'm not against swearing AT ALL (you bunch of cūnts), but i think the sound of the bleep and the joke of the false ambiguity is funnier.

    just my 2 cents.
