Setting up new Mac based studio with Logic and Ableton need input

I'm buying a new Mac for music recording and performance and would like some input.

I need a portable Mac so most likely a MacBook Pro any thoughts?

I want to use the Mac for music recording and performance only, what hardware should I look in too?

I will be running ableton live w/ guitar and keys for performance.

Any thoughts on refurbs?
