Setup a Local Server

    I need to set up a local server. the server will be used to test a few Content managements systems and to sync with my webspace.

    what software do i need, i know apache is already installed and i have enabled PHP.

    depends on the content management system, but most likely mysql considering you are using php and apache. whatever software you get will tell you what you need.

    Im going to be running wordpress on the local server and test it out.

    If you are intending to install WP you will need PHP 4.2 or greater, MySQL 3.23.23 or greater and The mod_rewrite Apache module.
