Waaaaay back in 2005 I "founded" :p MRoogle. MRoogle is a custom front end to Google making it easy to search different areas of MacRumors [forums, guides, entire site], and use advanced options easily to help find what you're looking for (search time periods, all words, any words, exact phrase).

I haven't posted a thread about it since the one linked at the top of this post, and thought it might be time again since there are so many new members re-posting questions  :D :p. It's a useful tool and in many cases is far better for helping you to find relevant threads than vBulletin's search, and because of the extra options available also beats the Google search you find under "Search" at the top of the page.

That's all really, just making all those newer peeps aware of it's existence, and that it might just help you find the answer when looking for help in future :)

Spread the word - link to MRoogle in your signature

If you'd like to help spread the word a pre-formatted signature can be found here :)

It looks just like Google. I don't like it.

For some reason, I don't know why, I just use the default VBulletin search feature. I guess I'm used to it from other forums? It works fine for me, if you know what you're doing, and use the Advanced features.
I think in my year and ~3 months in being here, I've used MRoogle once, twice tops. Sorry E.

I think the vBulletin search is pretty crappy so I prefer the google indexed goodness of MRoogle, but to each their own. I'm sure it doesn't bother e one way or the other.

Can MRoogle search on posts by a particular author (post originator) like the default search can? I tried it and it does not appear that it can. I've found that to be invaluable.

MacRumors has nothing to do with MRoogle. I get the same error.

The guy who runs it is notoriously unreliable. :D

arn and Google had a tiff about re-indexing when the site was redesigned, but I don't think that's got anything to do with it as your BBC search is also gubbed.
