I was wondering if you could make your own musical keyboard in Garage Band. What I want to do is have a bunch of sound effects and different songs set to a key on the virtual keyboard (musical keyboard) in Garage Band.
If I could label they keys as well, that would definitly be helpful. That way I could cue up sound effects or songs rather quickly while I'm recording my voice track.

...or is there a better way to go about doing this?

    Thanks,
    Bryan

I didn't think there was, but I went rummaging in the help files anyway and there is!

    You need to:

    1. create a software instrument track, and set it to the sound effects player.
    2. open the musical typing window
    3. drag the audio file containing the sound effect or song onto the note you want it to play from.
    4. ...and that's it.

It's not the most intuitive way of doing things and I think it's daft that this should be the only way to accomplish this - there should be a window or option to do the same thing, but it works. Unfortunately, I don't think you can label the keys, but at least they are making the noises you want. :)
