Is Aspyr ever going to make the Sims 2 for Mac? I'm really annoyed that they were so slow to get the original Sims and expansion packs out, but it's been at least a year since the PC version came out - are they even DEVELOPING it?

First of all, it is far from a year since the PC-version of Sims 2 came out.

    Second, it's coming. :)

I know this is a thread about the Mac version of Sims 2, but does anyone know if Maxis plans on releasing a console version Sims 2 like they did the Sims?

it would not run on a console.

they released the Urbs instead, because they knew people would ask that.

Forget about Sims 2 running on a current-generation console...none of them have the umph...

why do I say this? Because it heavily bound by both the CPU and the GPU on most PCs...in fact, it is hard to get Sims 2 to average more than 40-50 fps even on a pretty rockin' new PC...Unless they do some sort of magic, a G5 with a 5200 will barely run it.

the 5200 will limit things to 20 fps OR 800x600 or less with details turned down. Which would be a shame, because the game is beautiful when the details are turned up.

It's one case where I can honestly say that FSAA is really a huge benefit. You can see a huge difference with FSAA turned on virtually everywhere in the game...except, i think, the GUI. but all of the in-game action is begging for either 1600x1200 or FSAA.

My 9600 Pro can handle the FSAA at 1024x786, but it can't handle 1600x1200 very well...maybe when only 1 sim is on the lot...but it isn't very good. A 6600 GT or X700 XT probably loves 1600x1200...
