Hi, I was wondering if people on a different network can view your directory (like whatever you put in your sites folder) if so how do you do it.... I can't figure out how to make it availible to my friends and family... every time they try it says that the page is unavailible... is it because my IP address is something like 10.0.*.*

You have to enable it by going into your system preferences and turning on 'personal web sharing' in the sharing panel. When you do so, it should also display what the web address to that folder should be.

dont forget if you are running a router, that you will need to setup port forwarding and give all your friends your external IP (as in the one assigned to your modem). The forward port 80 requests to your local internal IP.

Since you say your IP is 10.0.X.X I am guessin you don't have a router
