Babelfish :
Macnews.de was just confirmed by Skypes of German PR agency that Skype is made accessible for for Mac 2,0 video on 13 September on the Apple Expo in Paris as beta version of the public. This surprises a little, since as current version Skype 1,4 is offered and the Public beta 1,5 and 1,5 video is to the Skype users since 25 July likewise at the disposal (here the video version). Upon the function range can be only speculated so far. Who compares the beta 1,5 for Macs with the outdated version Skype for Windows 2,0, hardly finds differences in the features. A function range is therefore not improbable how the 2.5-Version for Windows possesses it. Apart from video and audio conferences over the Skype network, the InterNet telephone service Skype in and, on which also understands itself the current Mac beta, could then SMS Fubnktionalitaet, integration into the directory and an improved contact management Skype out into the Mac version draw in.

Hopefully the video preview will now be beta, with both versions now released as one. Fingers crossed for SMS.

They can call it whatever they want as long as it's fully functional and works 100 % with the Windows client.

Until Skype for Mac is updated, you can still do a video chat between AIM version 5.5 and higher (but not Triton?) and iChat.
