Why is the ati rage 128 pro faster in openGL and other results than a radeon 9000 pro?

Results on Xbench:

Rage 128 pro: 61,45 fps

Radeon 9000 pro: 43.47 fps

my powermac g4 is a digital audio (2001 graphite model)

768MB ram (3X256)

466mhz with 1mb L2 cache at ½ speed

Latest tiger version

is there a problem with my old cpu?

Xbench isn't especially accurate. I wouldn't read into it.
