I'm setting up a new email address, I already have my own POP3 account but I would like to set up my own smtp server locally so that I don't have to use my isp's.

Does anyone know of an smtp server for mac os x (client)?

My web-host recommended http://www.postcastserver.com, but of course this is for windows, so any ideas?

This feature is actually built in.... Check out this tutorial. :)

EDIT: BTW, the tutorial has you download postfix if you have Tiger, but I'm not sure why. It is already installed -- on my computer, I could pick up right at the line that said sudo postfix start, and it worked fine. Good luck! :)

Hi Folks,

Looks like the above referenced page has been removed. Does anyone know of a cached version or updated instructions for 10.7?

Thanks in advance
