what do you guys do for a living? I'm a student and this summer i will be working with a doctor at the University of Washington. I wonder what types of career's mac user's have? I know some are students, but I feel there is a good mix between student, and older adults.

I am a graduate art student.. I pretty much involve myself with painting (takes up the most of my time), discussion and critique of art, go to lectures, engage with profs, often times aid or teach certain students the basics, get involved in art shows in my region... trying to go further out .... all this to build my resume/vita/portfolio etc. to try and get into a bigger grad art painting program elsewhere.... and i also do some freelance graphic design on the side.

I attend Flagler College in historic St Augustine, Florida. I am a philosophy and religion major with a pre-law minor. Between classes, I am a tour guide for the school and after school I work part time at a merchant shop on St George Street, which is this really touristy historic strip of old time shops that tourists always frequent. It's called the St Augustine Art Glass Gallery and basically we make stained glass windows, pottery, pendents, etc. which the tourists absolutely eat up. Right now I am saving up to move off campus to an apartment somewhere downtown, if that falls through, though, I am planning on running to become an RA at the dorms.

There's a world outside this forum?

Seriously though, I spend most of my time between school, a computing course at university, and my mac. Pretty dull really...

In the future, something computer (preferably mac) related.

Ooooh - cool - JUST the person...

Do you know of a GENERIC Login for admin privileges for Windows NT 4.0?

I'm sick to DEATH of not being able to play Quicktime content on my $hitbox PC at work - as I.T. have no fricken' INTENTION of getting off their lazy butts whilst playing on their PS2's in their office, but are being paid £50 PER HOUR for their efforts of getting past Level 3 of Tomb Raider...

...so I thought I'd just do it myself.

    Rant over...

There is no such thing as a generic login. There will be a local admin account (which could be called anything) and your systems administrators will have set the password.

    Bugger....

I suppose then I'll just have to go out and schmooze up to them with PS2 cheat codes and secret level accesses...

    Blech!

Then again - I can just be a right bastard, and run Basilisk ][ for Windows on all the work computers - emulating the Mac OS in full-screen mode - before walking away to leave the office in complete bedlam...

    :D

I am a Computer Lab Manger / Multimedia Technologist at a private 4-year college. I'm the lone Mac guy here unfortunately. I just got my boss to buy me a DP G5 PowerMac, so needless to say, everything is going well here :)

You lucky bastard. I went there when filming a movie in high school....those were the days. Castillo de San Marcos was the location if memory serves....lovely weather...

I'm an aspiring 3D animator, and I do freelance web design to pay the bills. Hopefully I'll land a nice studio job one of these days and put web design behind me for good. Look for my portfolio website soon! :D

I'm a freelance photographer & designer. I do mostly photo work lately (magazine stuff, party shots, headshots, etc), but have some decent contract work with a few locally based companies.

I also do a lot of pro bono work, along with a good friend of mine. We're always brainstorming ideas & things we want to do around this city, trying to create a buzz & do something awesome here. :D
