I just noticed this on the screen on my Macbook that I bought 3 months ago:

This seems to be some pixels that are just standing out from the others, being much lighter, but mainly when looked at sideways from the right (like in the photo) and mainly when on a white background. When looked at from the front it just looks dirty, meaning that those pixes look darker than the surrounding ones :( Anybody know what this is? I've tried rubbing it lightly with some micro-fiber cloth and water, but it seems to be under the surface layer when you look at it, so I don't think it's dirt or anything...

I've never seen anything like that before, but it is hard to tell exactly what it looks like from the photo because of the focus. Can you get a picture with better focus?

It's hard getting a picture of it because of the light that I have to put on it to make it stand out so clearly... Basically it messes with the focus, so it's very though to get it clearly. I don't know if this helps any, if not I'll try and get some more pictures tomorrow, when it isn't so dark.

This picture is clearer, thanks. From this picture your background looks darker than the offending spot. I wonder if you have a cluster of pixels going bad? Or perhaps some of the gloss from your glossy screen is coming off in that area? Is it possible something splashed the screen there? Something acidic or caustic?

I would do a search on the Apple MacBook discussion group and see if you can find anything there.

If it is something behind your screen your MacBook is only 3 months old and still under warranty.

I noticed something like that on my Macbook and took it right back. They replaced my laptop for me (just got it on Sunday) but you should be able to get a new LCD. Definitely take it to a genius to check it out.

Looks like your probably going to have to call Apple Care or take it in to the Apple Store. If its behind the screen then there is probably nothing else that you can do.
