Sound Library Location

Hi all,

I'm just wondering what is the best option to store my sound libraries on. I have a 7200rpm drive inside my iMac which could store some of them, or is a 7200rpm drive via USB2 sufficient? It would be for sample libraries including EastWest Complete Composer, Symphobia 1+2, LA Scoring Strings etc.
