Speaker Grill teared on iPhone 4S

my friends iPhone 4S speaker grill was teared bad and in addition to that there are pins on the 30 pin connector that are sticking up. It happened by being yanked off an home while charging. Could apple replace it under warranty

Teared... meaning it tore?
I doubt "warranty" would cover it. applecare+ which covers ACCIDENTS probably would.

Bigger problems will arise from the damage to the 30 pin connector. I ordered one for my iP4 from ifixit.com, took a deep breath, and replaced the part myself. It was not a simple procedure. I would recommend having someone experienced replace both parts at the same time.

Not sure why a warranty would coverage accidental damage like that.
