    hey,

I was just wondering- when they released the macbook, they also bumped the speeds of the macbook pros. i cant wait until merom, but is there another spec bump comign soon? i guess if intel is supposed to release a new chip soon that could indicate a bump but im wondering what are the chances that in 2 weeks or so we'll see a 2.33 or 2.88Ghz:eek: (etc) macbook pro?

    thanks alot

Doesn't Apple have some history in releasing updates in November? In time for Xmas? I know the 1Ghz TiBook was released November 2002.

Intel will be updating the Core Duo speeds imminently - last I heard, they were introducing a 2.33 GHz chip and decreasing the prices of their other chips.

Although I don't see Apple discounting their Macs anytime soon...Apple could utilize the 2.33 GHz chip as a chip for their top-of-the-line MacBook Pro 15" and 17" computers and a 2.16 GHz chip as a chip for their 1999 MacBook Pro 15" model.

This would, of course, help to further differentiate the Pro line from the regular line - although I have no idea whether it will actually happen...
