Ok Its not my MBP , I would never have liquids near my laptops.
But a friend of mine spilled wine on his 15" Rev A MBP, the keyboard is hooped. The logic board passed all test and seems OK.

so where can I get a new MBP compatible keyboard that is trustworthy?
I seem to recall that the MBP take the same keyboards as PB, please confirm or deny this.

    Thanks

Just call Apple and tell them you want to buy a MacBook Pro keyboard. I am sure they will sell it to you.

Tell your friend to quit their wining.

    ;)

Safest bet of course would be to order the Apple service part. Will Westworld or Simply help you?

Really? I did not know you can order parts from apple...

Simply- has really gone down hill in the last couple of years, their service sucks: they forgot to put in three screws on my last PB repair, then tried to charge me to fix it. on my imac they put back in the old fans they were supposed to replace and shipped the new ones back to apple. Also removed one of my ram sticks which they claim was never there.

Westworld closest to my house - the most self centered arrogant service pricks I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Though UBC computer store comes a close second with really unknowledgable arrogant sales pricks.

I can try the SFU store.

Are there no parts dealers on the internet that ship to Canada and have a good rep?

Apple's going to charge an arm and a leg for replacement parts.

Try www.ifixit.com . They're generally decent prices when they have a bunch in stock, though I noticed that when they have one or two items of a kind in stock they jack the price up a bit :p

You could also go for eBay. Make sure your friend knows that changing out the keyboard isn't all that simple. In fact it's a pain in the rear on the MacBook Pro the way they have it set in there. Takes quite a bit of patience =p

It would be me putting the keyboard in. The service tech wants $85 per hour.

Spilling stuff in their notebooks, at least with most desktops you kill a $10 keyboard instead.
