SSD in USB 2 vs SATA 1 speed?

Which one is faster, new SSD in USB 2 port or inside MacBook in ATA 1.5 Gb/s port?

SATA is significantly faster. USB 2.0 is rated at 480Mb/sec, so less than 1/3 the speed of SATA.
