I was wondering if anyone knows whether it is safe to put stickers on my MBP, more about if they can be removed without tarnishing the exterior finish and how one may go about doing so.

I would imagine it depends on the type of sticker.

Goo Gone is pretty darn good at getting sticker residue off, and it should be safe to use on your MBP...I've used it on other aluminum surfaces with no problems.

But why would you do that to your beautiful MBP?!

Stickers will get gummy. As the previous poster said, why would you wanna do that. I hate stickers and no unnecessary stickers on my Mac, electronic equpment, and my car.

    Blasphemer!!

Alright, alright now nobody, is to stone anybody, until I blow this whistle...

I'd be really careful there mate, some stickers are not fond of budging once they've been applied.

i like to do this to mine, too (typically a tiger paw to support my uni).

i use vinyl stickers, though.. the same kind you'd put on a car window. they stick well, and come off REALLY easily, with no residue left whatsoever..

The only stickers (if you can call it a sticker) is the Palm screen protector on the wrist rest areas for my PBs and iBook. I am going to do the same for my MBP. This does not leave any residue and is easy to take off while being transparent (less tacky looking) and protecting Mac's surface.
