I installed a new hard drive in my iBook over the weekend, and it would have been a perfect upgrade except that I torqued the threads off one screw hole that holds a rubber foot under the laptop. (Looky here)

Does anyone know the best way to fix this? I was thinking either (1) getting a new screw - except just a little bit longer - & hope it will contact unstripped threads without going too far into the case, or (2) getting a screw of the same size, only just a litttle bit fatter & re-threading the hole to fit the new (and slightly fatter) screw.

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Thanks.

I've never been too good at this sort of thing, but I'd go for option 2. Option 1 seems a little dangerous because of the possibility of a longer screw hitting something it shouldn't. You could also maybe use a little bit of epoxy glue in place of the screw.
