I have a really stupid question,.. but i just got my comptuer back from a hd replacement so i am redoing everything.. I cant figure out where the setting is to always have the folders listed as icons rather than a list.. every time i set it to icons, the next time i go there it goes back to list lol..

another thing is that this new hd.. only has a 233gb capacity, when it should be 250.. yes i know hds are never exactly what they are said to be.. but 17gb?! if i complained to apple do you think they would do anything for me?? And the 233 is without the os or anything just says capacity 233gb..

Yeah, this is normal. The bigger the hdd the more space is lost. It has to do with the manufacturer defining a kilobyte as 1000 bytes and gigabytes as 1000000000 bytes. The computer defines a kilobyte as 1024 and a gigabyte as 1,073,741,824 bytes.

    Try pressing <apple> + 1 :)

ummmm........it also has to do with a little thing called "formatting" as in setting the block patterns/size and file system so that a mac can use the disk

    ALSO BTW.....

stupid questions only if asked not they are :)
