What's the stupidest thing that a Microsoft user (or any other user) has said to you about an Apple product?

Mine was this... At school the other day there was a contest to win a new 4G iPod 20GB and the head teacher read this out at assembly:
'The winner will receive a Macintosh iPod 20GB MP3'
'Macintosh' instead of Apple and MP3 instead of MP3 player. :)

    "Macs can't be upgraded"

Well, if thats the case, then I wonder how I was able to add RAM and a 2nd hard drive to my PowerMac. Magic I guess.

    Where do I begin?

    "MAC sucks cuz they suck"

"MAC sucks cuz they don't play games"

    "Nothing works with MAC"

"MAC only have 1 mouse button which is for children"

"MACs cost $3,000, PCs cost $500"

    "Nobody uses MAC"

    "Theres no software for MAC"

"MACs are slow cuz they only go up to 2Ghz" (prior the the 2.5Ghz G5)

"MAC is going out of business"

    "You can't upgrade MAC"

"When a MAC goes out you have to throw it out the window"

Ok I think that's all for right now. But I do have to admit, I used to say things like that  But now I know better.

Was told by a certain undesirable coat-tail family member not to get a Mac when he had never even used one. Not following that advice could be the best decision I've ever made.

Same POS said they don't make any money on iPod sales.

Same POS also said the only reason why the newspaper his wife works for uses Macs is because they don't have any money and if they had funds they would be using Dells.

In essence, this guy really needs to be crippled. When I am around him, I avoid alcohol intake because I don't want to end up a newspaper headline.

"MAC's don't work with the internet."

Fortunately, I've never heard this in person, but this has been said. As we all know, Microsoft invented the Interweb. :p

I'm also using authentic capitalization and apostrophe use for Macs. :D

thread is a repeat - it was called Mac Hater arguments.

The stupidest thing for me though, was my friend said:

"I have a neighbor who can fix my computer whenever it breaks but he can't fix Macs"

LOL, that's hilarous.. I have visons of Cousin-In-Law Jed getting Run-By-Nancy-Kerrigan'd next to the swimming pool in the back yard.

I think the stupidest thing I've ever heard was: "It's just a toy."

Here's another thing that always bugged me. At MicroCenter's website (on the right), they have a section for Computer, then another section for Macs. Like computers and Macs are different....

Oh, how could I forget the one mouse button BS?

I live in a dorm so I sometimes get people coming up to me in my room and they see my PowerMac, then look at my MX1000 with a ton of buttons on it, then with a confused look on their face, they're like "Why would you spend all that money on that mouse when you can only use one button?"

When I first got my iBook, it was all "How do you deal with the one mouse button!" "There isn't any software for Macs!" "Where's the start button?"

but I took my powerbook to school today to work on a project with a friend I got was:
"That is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen"
"Spotlight! What's that?" (explanation) "HOLY CRAP!!"
    "I want one so much..."
"you have so many awesome programs!"
"opening finder is so much easier than the whole start bar thing!"

I stood there, and thought to myself "thasss right! you love mac!"

(Also iDVD AMAZED people. The standard menus.. everyone was just "ooo" and "aaa" and how much can I buy your old iBook for?)

    haha, PeeCee users... :D

"Macs only have black and white screens" as I'm typing away on my G4 iBook. It was almost embarrasing, I turned it 'round to show him and he just walked off. Pity the weak.

Mostly, PCers are using this generically. They don't consider ram and hard drives major upgrades. They are referring to major modifications such as cpu and mobo. Maybe a case mod or something along those lines. Macs are much more limited than PCs in that respect.

True, however, I've been told you can't upgrade the memory in Macs and you're required to use the Apple displays.

Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha! I guess I never realized that people thought that you truly could only use one button, no matter which mouse you used.

I like the one button mouse - during intense gaming, its VERY easy to hit the wrong button with a finger - this one you push down with your hand...

Next time, press ctrl-alt-apple-8 all at once and show the fool he's "right." Then switch back to color with the same keystrokes.

Um my friends dont have logical arguments for why macs are bad.
"Macs suck. Why would you get a mac? It such a waste of money."

The best thing I have every heard though was.................

"Macs don't work with the internet"

I wasnt able to respond to that, I was in a state of shock..

    Yeah, good one. :D

I actually just got back from lunch with one of my better friends. I told him about how I'd just placed a new iMac on order and he looked at me funny. "What do you want a Mac for?"

I actually didn't know where to start so I started with the virus argument. He just flatly didn't believe me. :(

There are heaps of ignorant people out there, some of them closer than you think!

    Sorta relates

Just read this on another forum about whether or not people use IE:

When I read that I just laughed and felt sorry for them. I mean they have to wait for the next version of IE to get tabbed browsing, while almost every other browser has it. And about the media files, well I don't really like that feature in IE where you can play music in the left frame of the browser, that gets in the way and takes up unneccessary real estate. I rather use a seperate app, IMO. I'm not even sure if that's what they meant.

You can configure everything. I think its easiest when the F buttons and number buttons are used and you slam your hand on a mouse with one button and it shoots and you win
