Anyone remember this tape? For some reason, I have part of the lyrics from a song on this tape in my head.

    Goes something like:

    My rhyme is sublime
    My technique is unique
    ...
    I'm a craftsman
    I'm a draftsman
    ...
I never cease to amaze myself
    But you don't phase me
    I just phase myself

Or something like that. Anyone know who what that song is and its artist? I know I'm probably stretching it.

Hmm, I don't recall the song exactly, but it sounds like it might be High Power Rap by disco dave and the force 5 mc's.

While still looking for this tape, Google brought my old thread up. I continued searching and finally found the song and the tape.

The tape was "Power Rap" and it was released in the 1989-90 timeframe. It had the Chicago Bears Shuffling Crew doing the SuperBowl Shuffle, along with EPMD's "So What Cha Sayin" and "Lodi Dodi" by Doug E. Fresh and MC Ricky Dee. The cover looked like a huge cartoon boombox on the front. Anyone know where I can find it?

The song I was looking for was "On the Real Tip" by Def Jef is also included.

    Power Rap Cassette

I have a buddy that has that cassette. We used to listen to it while we played ping pong in his parent's basement. I listened to it just about a month ago.
I have also been tryng to get a copy but it is nowhere to be found.

Trying to find the lyrics to Def Jef's lyrics brought this thread up. How interesting. :)

The tape I have it on is called "Yo! Mo Rap" and I'm going to try to find a way to dub this tape to MP3, if possible.

I used to have that tape too. I've been trying to remember the artists and tracks on it. I haven't been able to find any trace of it either. Does your friend still have the tape? can you post a list of the tracks and artists for me chadalg3? I know of the Chicago bears, fat boys, dana dane, and ricky d. What are the others?

Wow. I think this is the shortest-oldest thread ever. Just look at the gaps of the responses!
