And I'm supposed to be on a 2MB line :(
Damn BT and damn Plusnet (upto 2MB) and their traffic shaping. Even at 5am Sunday morning (yes I'm up then) I only get 520KB/s.
    Aaaaaarse.
Any recommendations for something a bit faster? Plusnet claim it's BT, BT claim it's Plusnet

    um, 500 KB/s too slow for ya? I'm on a 256 line and get ~25 KB/s. If 2 Mbps is 8 times as much bandwidth as 256 kbps, then you're getting a good deal (8 * 25 = 200 KB/s).

    Now stop complaining :p

Not sure where that InternetFrog.com site is located. I prefer this speed test because you can pick your location (it's all US sites though, sorry).

    Speakeasy Speed Test

    Using InternetFrog test:
    4.27 Mbps down
    376 kbps up

    Using Speakeasy test:
    4.361 Mbps down
    347 kbps up

You mean 64.4424 KB/sec, although that is slow. You should get around 110KB/sec really. You'll get better results in off-peak times (12 - 6am) because less people would be using the internet at the same time.

Not too sure about the test a couple of times. Wouldn't it get faster because it's stored in a cache?

Oops! Thanks for pointing that out... goll! :D

I wish I were getting that much, but...
No, actually, it's cool because I'm getting BellSouth's (aka 'BS') top-speed connection for the price of their slowest because MediaCom (bleh) gave me a flyer saying I could have cable internet at the same speed as BS's top DSL plan at half the cost, so I called and said, "Give me a good reason not to switch." They did. ;)
