"Apple's shares have soared 903%, to $94.53, over the past decade"

    Sweet.

As much as I admire Apple, give it all my disposable income (and some that isn't disposable) and even invested in it once (and doubled my money), I'm pretty sure that the honor of "biggest Valley brand" has always and will always belong to Hewlett Packard/Agilent.

Silicon Valley is defined by the axis between Stanford U. and Bill & Dave Co. Without those two, Jobs and the Woz would probably never have had reason to live there in the first place.

Absolutely nothing, just like your post. It is, however, relevant to the original topic, unlike your post.

Y'all remind me why I love the interwebs. It's like finding two white trash women mixing it up in aisle 4 at Wal-Mart, without being hit by a stray can.

OK, let's make the question just a little bit more relevant. Steve Wozniak lived is Silicon Valley because that is where he was born. He was born in San Jose on August 11, 1950. Steve Jobs was born is San Francisco on February 24, 1955. He was adopted by a couple who lived in the Valley. Not to put too fine a point on it, but both men lived in Silicon Valley because that's where their parents lived and they lived with their parents.
