Oh, I've gotta save that article. Later on it talks about how, despite Bush's cheerleading about how "great" the economy's doing, few believe it.

The chickens are coming home to roost. They've heard Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and now Bush again telling them how wonderfully fat their wallets are getting when they know that isn't true. Call it "bull____ fatigue" if you want. The people just ain't goin' for it no mo.

This thing about the restaurant is both sad and hilarious. Hilarious because it's so illustrative of what a pariah the guy's become; sad because it's distressing to have anybody in the Office of the President who's bad enough to generate such an apathetic reaction.

Stop me if I'm wrong but I heard somewhere that Bush's approval rating is the same as what Nixon's was the week before he resigned.

Is that right? Because if it is, hoo hoo, does that make me laugh.

Apparently Illinois does not have a statewide indoor smoking ban yet. I'll have to see what Rob Reiner is up to these days...

Why is this considered a "big" snub again? Because a diner with 40 people in it didnt go crazy? wow.

Before actually reading the article, I thought maybe a business owner refused service. Now that would have been seriously amusing, but this is mildly so as well. Actually, a pretty depressing sign of things when you think about it.

Are you familiar with the old expression "it will play in Peoria?"

Ah, but us old geezers know all about Peoria. The younger generation don't know sh*t. ;)
