The iPhone's Long, Hard Road to India

    Isn't this simply equivalent to what Steve Balmer said about the iPhone in the US?

    they said it wouldn't get built
    it did
    they said it wouldn't work well
    it did
    they said nobody would buy it
    they did
    they said it wouldn't go in Europe
    it has
    now they say nobody in india will buy it
    we'll see

    To some extent, Apple has already made accommodations for Europe. It will be interesting to see what Apple will do to get this worldwide. They seem somewhat more serious about making that happen with the iPhone than they have been with the iTunes Store.

    In any event, I'm excited to see the iPhone make it to India and China. :)

    I'm sure there is a market for the iPhone in the bigger cities, but to what extent is it worth the costs of setting up the iPhone infrastructure there?... that is the question.

    Nevertheless, if the Blackberry can sell, the iPhone can.

    Now if Macs can make their headway into the market...
