This doesn't seem to have been brought up so...

According to this article a mr Rob Enderle predicts the end of the Mac... Da da da daaaa.... It's the sixth time he does it (!?) and the 45th time in total since '95... The total list is quite fun and interesting reading... Our little Mac is a real survivor i guess :D

I remember a while back when we got our first home computer... it was a Mac (man Dad you have good taste). It was a sweet machine. My cousin used to come over with his little laptop with like 200MB hard drive (I think?) and we'd play a game called "Bolo" over AppleTalk. Good times. Anyways, yeah my dad heard this rumor once and believed it (even scared me) so he's always seen that PC's are more the way to go (also since they are cheaper) but I bought one to try it for a year, ended up selling it to him and he wishes for another mac after he's seen my new iBook :) Sorry, a little off topic

Wow - a new processor within the next five years... pretty risky prediction there. As I do with all five-year predictions from 2000 (examine them after five years to see f they were right), I'll wait until 2010 and see if this idiot was correct.

My prediction: sometime, in the next five years, Apple will change the version of the OS, they will alter the appearance of their computers somewhat, and they will speed up their processors.

Anyone who knows anything about computers knows that Macs are far superior to anything else on the market. Granted, their hardware is on a different level, but the way OS X functions with its hardware is a true testament to the genius that is Apple.

Why is anyone still willing to publish this guy's ranting?

No matter how many times he's proven wrong, he just doesn't learn.

My prediction: that in 5 years time somebody here will moan about the graphics card and somebody will ask whether it's worth buying now or waiting till the next upgrade.

Oh yeah, and somebody will be running OS 10.3 on an older machine and be saying 'Just what do you need all that power for?'

Ok. This is the actual article (the above link is a link to the article).

Interestingly, the article is no longer available.

The more they wish Mac would die the funnier they become, and the better we do.

I'd call Enderle a perfect moron, but of course nobody's perfect. I think he's got a serious case of Dvorak envy. Basically a Microsoft shill from way back, masquerading as a technology expert.
