i am using the first generation macbook air of 1.6 ghz and core 2 duo. The new 11.6 macbook air spec is 1.4 ghz and same 2gb ram. Is my mba comparable in terms of speed to the new macbook air? i always had a problem when watching HD video or youtube when it start to get hot. The video will be laggy and jerky and i have to cool it down a while and then is ok.

This new machine will run circles around your first generation performance wise. I have a third gen and my new 11.6 MBA runs over that one as well.
Apple has unleashed a mini beast with the new model.

the processor is ULV instead of LV so will run alot cooler!

I am also upgrading from a base model Rev A MBA and decided to go with the 11.6" -- from everything I have read and from my own Apple Store fiddling with it it seems that this will be a *significant* upgrade.

Now if only mine would leave Kentucky where it has been sitting for 2 days.
