    I agree with the comment about seeing something for the Mac's 20th anniversary. It's not too far away, it'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

    thats if anything amounts from it at all, was the 25th anniversary apple from the pre jobs era or after?

    I'm not sure it was put out in 1997 and wasn't that the year Jobs came back?

    that would leave a considerable gap between desktop and portable no?

    if all the desktops had G5's and the portables still kept to the G4. If it had to happen that would be preferable than to keeping the gap just to maintain sales or marketing.

    as for the g5 powerbook, it's pretty much impossible right now unless they come up with a miracle (like liquid cooling). my 17pb runs so freaking hot sometimes, i gotta shut down and put her in the fridge for a minute or two.

    I agree that a G5 iMac would be nice, but it's unlikely. Physical restrictions aside, it isn't excatly needed right now. The current iMac is doing fine.

    I'd personally like to see a G5 Xserve, first.

    A G5 iMac would be a mistake if it's released before...>

    Microsoft makes Vitual PC compatable with the G5. It would put a real crimp in the "switcher" market.
