Ahhh another disenfranchised Apple mobile user. One of us...one of us...one of us...one of us...one of us...one of us...one of us...one of us...one of us.
Seriously though what has needed to be said has been said in that: Apple's mobile pro offerings blow in comparison to the industry. Period. No debate.
Until something is release that really updates the line then expect more and an increased level of bitching.

We all wish IBM would get out faster, cooler G5s. We wish it badly--and so does Apple! (Or maybe IBM has already done so, and Apple's just too incompetent to make them work in the nice slim laptops we're accustomed to. That's something to speculate about.)

Meantime, show me an OS that can stand up to OS X and then I'll make speed my #1 priority with a laptop.

Until then, the fastest laptop in the world isn't good enough if it runs DOS, or Windows XP, or AmigaOS... and not everyone is running a render farm made out of laptops.

And if what you can DO with a laptop--the OS and the software--are the #1 factor--then there's nothing that can touch the PowerBook and iBook.

    nagromme, you said it exactly.

No matter how old and slow my aging PowerBook might be, it's still a whole lot "faster" than a brand new PC laptop would be, because my PowerBook's operating system and applications actually allow me to get things accomplished quickly and efficiently.

The extra 1.3 seconds I might lose here and there waiting for an app to launch, is more than made up for by the fact that the tools in front of me aren't crap.
