    THE STORY OF IRAQ

AS TOLD BY GEORGE W BUSH AND ADMINISTRATION
    - followed by later revelations.

SADDAM HAS WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!
    - Politicians who see classified evidence are convinced that Saddam has a WMD program.

SADDAM WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE 9/11 ATTACKS!
    - More classified evidence is suggested to contain a link between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.

SADDAM IS GOING TO ATTACK THE UNITED STATES!
    - More classified evidence is produced to show that Saddam is developing WMD delivery methods.

LET'S ATTACK SADDAM WITH SHOCK AND AWE!
    - But first the administration talks about "shock and awe" for weeks, so that any possible WMDs or terrorists can slip over the border, which we left unprotected.

WATCH US INVADE IRAQ WITH EMBEDDED JOURNALISTS!
    - As we topple the government, we offer no substitute, and there is massive looting and crime everywhere.
    - The infrastructure of Iraq is completely destroyed, with no resolution offered except the idea of eventual democracy.
    - Saddam loyalists and other anti-Americans aren't fighting back, preferring to use the American-lead chaos form an underground resistance movement which will kill Americans and Iraqis whenever they are unprotected.

    MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
    - Every month, more and more American soldiers are wounded and killed. As are more Iraqi civilians. As are more American civilians in Iraq.
    - The entire American intelligence community can't even find a single Iraqi who knows anything about WMDs, let alone any actual weapons.
    - Additionally, it turns out that all that intelligence about WMDs and delivery methods and terrorists was, well, not true at all somehow. This is blamed on the CIA, and well, Saddam was a horrible dictator anyway, right? (Just like our dictator-allies in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. And like other dictators in Cuba, China, Burma, North Korea, etc.)
    - The United States was directly responsible for the deaths of many times more innocent Iraqi civilians than innocent American civilians were killed in the 9/11 attacks. Why do Iraqis hate us?
    - Chaos reigns in Iraq, as every single person's livelihood is destroyed. More and more Iraqis turn to desperate measures. Many join terrorist or "subversive" groups, intending to kill Americans.
    - The United States military cannot even make its recruiting goals, and has to resort to holding reservists beyond their expected release date.
    - Meanwhile, terrorists around the world are recruiting in record numbers, as more and more people are enraged by American hostilities in Iraq and want to give their lives to kill Americans.

You know all of this happened. These are just summaries of news headlines, over the past two years.

Everything the President has told us about this war has later been contradicted. Our President lied to us in order to start a war. Then our president waged that war with astounding incompetence. Now we are in a dire situation in Iraq, and there are far more terrorists who hate us than ever before. Why do so many people want to vote for a continuance of this administration?

This is the case President Bush's made for war on Iraq:

This provides a summary of the situation in Iraq today:

And since now you have a choice, this is John Kerry's position on Iraq:

    Oh... please pass it on.

Or explain why anyone would vote to reelect the president.

    Thanks.

Democrats and Republicans all take money from the same corporations, and ignore their constituents equally, right?

But this particular president, regardless of his party, lied to the people in order to start a war (or else was duped by his own intelligence staff). And then he has waged this war with astonishing incompetence. Did anyone plan anything?

There is no way he could have planned for a worse situation in Iraq. The situation there is dire, and people the world over hate America for it. President Bush should not be commander in chief. He has no concept of war. All he has done is boosted the recruiting campaigns of terrorists.

Normally I wouldn't want to vote for a Democrat, but John Kerry is the only possible solution to this problem now. And he at least knows what war is. And diplomacy.

They tried to plan the domestic politics, but that didn't go so well either. By now the Iraq story was supposed to be lingering only on the back pages and to have faded as a central issue in the campaign. Instead it is mission (not) accomplished, with Americans dying nearly every day, and no end in sight.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why only such a small number of Republicans are admitting buyer's remorse. They should be as interested as anyone in turning Bush out, so that they can blame Kerry for the next few years of inevitable chaos in Iraq, and perhaps saving themselves a drubbing at the next midterm election.

All in the pursuit of democratic peace theory!

I love those "and for what?" questions, because 30% of the time it's obvious, 30% of the time it's a rhetorical question and everyone knows why, and 40% of the time the truth is available quite easily:

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/nsc/nss.html

That's what they died for: the Neo-con agenda. Which, by the way, was the same agenda Clinton was trying to put in place.

    Here's a summary: http://www.fimble.com/~lmn/viewtopic.php?p=294&ppp=0&tpl=printarticle

If you don't believe in that crap, you're kind of screwed because both Republicans and Democrats have adopted it. Your only choice really is to vote 3rd party, but since that's "throwing away your vote", you might as well stay home. :D

It's almost as if there was a hidden message in this post
