How would US citizens feel if, in order to restore order in Watts, the White House had sent in US Air Force bombers to deal with the "insurgents"? How would UK citizens feel if the Birmingham riots had been dealt with by sending in the RAF? Or the inhabitants of Ireland if Republican neighbourhoods had been targeted with airstrikes at the height of the Troubles?

Is it not utterly outrageous that USAF bombers are reportedly being used in Baghdad?

Wake me up when China owns the world. I don't want part of Anglo-Saxon hegemony any longer.

Well, drones with Hellfire missiles would probably be more cost effective. Good call!

Wear and tear on the aircraft, fuel, and the salary of the pilot. Not to mention the risk to the pilot's life.

Well, that's a pretty half-witted and entirely inappropriate response to my original point. Thank you.

Sure, but this is also outrageous.

    sounds like a 3-for-1 deal.

Geez, can't even agree with someone around here.

Obviously, if there were 20 insurgent sites that needed destroying and it took an aircraft to deliver the ordinance then that's what was needed.

As for Watts, that's a National Guard level issue and if they needed aircraft to put down that riot, that's what they would have used. It's up to the Governor, not the President.

I hate to say this, but this post sounds really bad with what skunk is trying (i think) to convey.

So you would be quite happy for Arnie to use the same tactics on American citizens in the LA suburbs?

They're terrorists. We know they're bad. What's our excuse? Are we no better?

Yes, but you were kidding. I hope. Guessing Swarmie isn't.

They are not all terrorists. The US using air strikes as a means to destroy them is hypocritical because air strikes tend to kill a lot more people than intended (aka, innocent bystanders). That makes us terrorists, so no, we are no better.

Ask ourselves if you are kidding? I'm not sure what you mean by that. I asked myself and I think you are kidding, however I also think this isn't really a "joking" kind of subject... It is a serious situation IMO and a lot of people don't care because it is far away and all they know is that it affects their gas prices... Maybe I'm taking your statement the wrong way (or I reacted how you wanted me to ;) ), I apologize if I did.

It's ok, you still made a good point I didn't flesh out.

Ok, I hope you were kidding. I know Swarm wasn't. While I agree we should be protecting the well being of our soldiers, I don't think we should just kill as many of "them" as we can, not worrying about the collateral damage.

I'm under the impression that brown people are people too. ;)
