    And they made the right decision. It set them up for a good decade and beyond.

    I doubt there'd be an Apple today had they not acquired NeXT (and re-acquired Steve Jobs).

    Where BeOS was probably faster on multi-threading, they used it constantly, a programmer's nightmare. Also, the OS itself was not complete. Whereas the transition from OpenStep to Mac OS X took five years, working on BeOS probably would have taken longer.
