That's the reason NOT to buy it, it's overclockers memory and may need the heat spreaders to operate at the memory stated on the box.

Using heat spreaders on the Macs are a really bad idea, the enclosures are designed to work without them (thus the DIMMS are close together.)

Add memory with heat spreader to the Mac and you BLOCK airflow to the DIMMS and actually can destroy your fancy looking memory -- not to mention lose all the data on the drive as the memory errors slowly corrupt it.

Don't know where the pic is, but they showed a picture of a G5 with the banks of RAM loaded with blue annodized heat spreader memory and it looked like a solid chunk of aluminum.

Instead of a bank of memory with 1-3mm of clearance for decent airflow.

Overclockers memory is one thing (if it'll work without the heat spreaders), but sometimes it's overclocked memory with heatspreaders added to ensure stable operation at the stated speed.

Darn it. I was hoping the spreaders were only needed IF you overclocked the memory.

Has anyone had any experience with this brand?
