This Wednesday, Congress is scheduled to turn control of the Internet over to AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Time Warner and what’s left of the telecommunications industry.

    The details here.

Seems to me that as soon as one of the 'doomsday' scenarios (like intentionally slowing one website in favor of another) happened the offending companies would be sued for monopoly/anti-competitive practices. No?

OTOH, I really hope all that 'dark-fiber' Google bought is for their so-called GoogleNet.

Yeah, there's millions of miles worth of un-used fiber optic cable out there. BAck in the late 90's early 2000, the telecom companies started laying this stuff all over the place just to end up leaving it.

They want bandwidth? Start using fiber!
