Hey.

I'm looking for a nice little piece of software to collect thoughts and ideas on different topics.

Something that I can organize, catagorize, enter text and maybe graphics.

Not wanting to use a Word or Excel document. I have to assume some of you use the type of thing I'm looking for. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Some recommendations...
MacJournal 3.1 (MacJournal 2.6.1 is a free version)
DEVONthink Personal 1.9.4 (recent write up can be found here)
NoteBook 2.0 (based on NoteBook for NEXTSTEP)
NoteTaker 1.9.8 (also based on NoteBook for NEXTSTEP)
OmniOutliner 3.0.3
That should give you a good start. This area of development is pretty rich on Mac OS X.

For those wondering what the original NoteBook (that the current versions of NoteBook and NoteTaker are based on) looked like, I've attached a screen shot.
