I didn't want this to get lost in one of the threads of the new rumors about the new MP that's hopefully coming at WWDC. There's a lot of new talk about a modular, stackable design, with everything linked together via Thunderbolt. My question: is this even possible? It doesn't seem like TB would provide enough bandwidth. Since the new version of Thunderbolt will only be PCI x4 as I understand, you couldn't even use it to connect more than 1 GPU at full performance, let alone connecting multiple CPUs (and RAM and everything else) and making them communicate and work in unison.
