For give me for such questions but I'm new to Mac & OSX....

I have a 1 week old iMac 2.8ghz 21.5" system. I just purchased a "G Drive" and have it all set up & it has already backed up my system.
My concerns lie with how it works
    1) When time machine is doing a back up can the computer still go to sleep? If so, when it wakes will G Drive resume where it stopped?
    2) Similarly, when I shut down the computer for the day, will G Drive resume backing up if it was active prior to shutting down?

Just tried putting my computer to sleep whilst it was backing up, and then waking it up. Yes the backup just resumed and everything worked fine :)

Yes it will just resume when you turn it back on!

Good luck, time machine's great :)

Time machine is a must have feature! Just leave a drive plugged in all the time, you won't even know its there until you need it.
