Here's my Top 24 of 2009 and some random stats about them.
    1. The Blueprint 3 - Jay-Z (Roc Nation, Atlantic; September 8th)
    2. No Line On The Horizon - U2 (Interscope, March 3)
    3. Sun Gangs - The Veils (Rough Trade, April 6th)
    4. Let It Beat - Shwayze (Suretone Geffen, November 3)
    5. The Fray - The Fray (Epic, July 28)
    6. Straight No Chaser - Mr Hudson (GOOD Music, October 19)
    7. Man on the Moon: The End of Day - KiD CuDi(Dream On, GOOD Music, Universal Motown; September 15)
    8. So Far Gone (Mixtape) - Drake (October's Very Own, Young Money Entertainment; February 13)
    9. Relapse - Eminem (Shady, Aftermath, Interscope; May 19)
    10. Waking Up - OneRepublic (Interscope, November 17)
    11. No Ceilings (Mixtape) - Lil Wayne (Cash Money Records, Young Money Entertainment; October 31)
    12. City of Black & White - Mat Kearney (Sony, May 19)
    13. Back & Forth - Pete Yorn (Sony, June 23)
    14. The E.N.D. - The Black Eyed Peas (Interscope, June 9)
    15. Stems And Seeds - Ben Folds (Sony, February 10)
    16. Towards The Sun EP - Alexi Murdoch (Indie, November)
    17. A Matter of Time (Mixtape) - Mike Posner & The Brain Trust (J Records, February 28)
    18. Union - The Boxer Rebellion (Unsigned, January 11)
    19. When The Devil's Loose - A.A. Bondy (Fat Possum, September 1)
    20. Slaughterhouse - Slaughterhouse (E1 Music; August 11th)
    21. One Love - David Guetta (Astralwerks, August 25)
    22. Asleep In The Bread Aisle – Asher Roth (SRC, Universal Motown; April 21)
    23. En Concert - Jack Johnson (Brushfire, Universal; October 27)
    24. Monsters of Folk - Monsters of Folk (Shangri-La Music, Rough Trade; September 22)

The Interesting stats game. Interscope Records has the most albums on the list (four) and Rough Trade, a label you likely haven't heard of, features two albums. There were four albums from the month of September and two albums came out on the same day, May 19th. French DJ, David Guetta and his album "One Love", in Special Edition form has the most songs, thirty-one in total. Alexi Murdoch's limited edition EP, Towards the Sun EP, features only seven. In total there are 370 songs... or so I think? Lil Wayne's voice can be heard on four different albums and The Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" can be found on three separate albums. Eminem's "Paul (Skit)" was the shortest tract at nineteen seconds (Eminem actually had three skits that were the shortest amongst all tracks) and Alexi Murdoch's "Crinan Wood" is the longest track at eight minutes and forty-three seconds.

Edit, Some More Info: There are two "indie" artist on the lists (Union & Alexi Murdoch). I would imagine that when everything is worked out number one or two will likely sell the most copies on the list, number nine and fourteen might also have something to say about it as well, but we shall see. Alexi Murdoch will get the low by default as his EP is hand-numbered and limited to 5,000 copies. There are two mixtapes on the list and one live album. Four albums feature mostly remixes. The Fray, Let It Beat, Straight No Chaser, City of Black & White, Back & Forth, Stems and Seeds and Asleep In The Bread Aisle previously had not mentioned in the random facts game and Alexi Murdoch's Towards The Sun EP, the album you are least likely to own by default, is tied for being discussed the most with Eminem's Relapse, both were mentioned four times prior to this last sentence.

    Here you go...

10 / Paolo Nutini / Sunny Side Up
    09 / jj / jj n° 2
    08 / Fink / Sort Of Revolution
07 / Bat For Lashes / Two Suns
    06 / F*ck Buttons / Tarot Sport

05 / Junior Boys / Begone Dull Care
    04 / Bibio / Ambivalence Avenue
    03 / Fever Ray / Fever Ray
02 / The Heliocentrics & Mulatu Astatke / Inspiration Information
01 / Animal Collective / Merriweather Post Pavillion

For me, my number one is so far ahead of everything else that came out this year, it isn't even funny. That's not to say my other four aren't good, as they certainly are. It's just that Animal Collective have hit a homerun this year.

I forgot about K'naan! I did not expect to like that album, but it's really good. I'd say that deserves honorable mention if not a spot on the top five of the year.

Here are some of my favs this year..
    Eminem : Relapse
    Timbaland: Shock Value II
U2 - No Line on the Horizon
    DMB - Big Wiskey
Pet Shop Boys - Yes (good album!)
Depeche Mode - Sounds of the Universe (awesome)
    Chris Cornell - Scream

    and finally

The Decemberists - Hazards of Love
I really enjoy this album. If you haven't gotten it yet, you really need to check it out.

Eminems' new 7 song album "Relapse: Refill" is out in a few weeks. It is old school Eminem! A cross between Encore and The Eminem Show. Totally contrasty to Relapse. Can't wait for it to come out!

I was really excited about the latest U2 album when it first came out, but now I don't really care for it anymore. My opinion that U2 hasn't put out a truly good album since Achtung Baby hasn't changed.
