i wish the poll option was there

john holmes was the first big star in american porn and he was like a foot long or something ridiculous

i don't know if albert einstein became an american, but if he did, i would add him to my list of american icons

first off who cares if they are repeating, maybe they just agree, but everyone should add Nike and Bart Simpson to the list.

I'd put my vote in for these:

    Charles Lindberg
    Neil Armstrong
    J.F.K.
    M.L.King
    Thomas Jefferson

not popular icons necessarily, but these individuals have change America/the World in profound ways. There are tons more, some already mentioned, others I'm forgetting.....

wasn't yours... your list has very respectable people indeed...

i was thinking more of things like mcdonald's, enron, KFC, teeny boppers, etc....

    not respected historical figures.

and while i don't think that the celebrities mentioned are necessarily embarrassing, the fact that they are considered "icons" is... matt damon? come on... helen hunt???
