    Hey all...
Anyone tried to run Total Annihilation for Mac on an OSX computer running Classic? I loved that old game, and I was hoping to make it work. My Powerbook is old enough that I could boot into OS9, but who wants to do that?

Or I could always just buy a MacBook Pro and run it in XP right?... but that's a bit more expensive.

    Thanks...

I use to run it in classic on my old Beige G3 on 10.0 and 10.1. :) If that'll run it in classic, just about anything will.

Another option is to use SheepShaver. I've tried that recently with some OS 9-only titles (MW2, Myth I, although not TA). It works...passably...but is definitely not yet ready for prime time; did get Myth to not only boot but play, somewhat, to my great surprise.

However, I see at least 3 advantages with SheepShaver:

    1. Its performance may be no worse than Classic, even if that's not saying much.

    2. Unlike Classic, performance is likely to improve as the emulator is continually refined.

    3. Unlike Classic, it will run on an Intel Mac.

TA Runs in classic with absolutely no dramas on my 6 year old iMac.

    Specs:
    500 Mhz G3
    384 Mb Ram
    8MB ATI Rage Pro

Networking also works properly via Appletalk.

I've had some issues with it (PMG5). Graphic glitches and stuff. It was playable though.
