Ok, just recieved my MBP and it seems lovely except for one thing....I was thinking the trackpad was awful but have worked out that it just seems to have a large deadspot right in the middle of the trackpad. If I try and move my finger from the bottom of the trackpad to the top it is fine for the first cm or so,then stops moving whilst my finger goes across the middle cm and then moves again at the top. Horizontal movement seems fine throughout though. Obviously this makes it incredibly hard to navigate. Is this a feature I need to turn off or is my trackpad likely faulty?

sounds like a faulty trackpad to me. The trackpad on my parent's MBP is fine

Bigger bugger - they dont do replacements on refurbs. Nearest service centre has a 14 day backlog. Time for a refund - gutted.

Only had it for a few hours and can tell I am gonna miss it already. It is just sooo nice to use (with a usb mouse plugged in so I can navigate). It'll be picked up next week and should have a refund within a week of that. Looks like I will go back to waiting for the c2d revisions as I am not ordering another refurb until the refund comes through.

What I am gonna do is have a really good play around over the next couple of days, just get used to OSX and test out a few apps to see what I am going to install when I get the new one. Really impressed with OSX so far, some things will take a while to get used to as is quite a big switch but definately seems worth it.
