I am selling my laptop and want to transfer my I tunes library to my new laptop. I am aware of the reboot hold the T key and firewire transfer them but if I remember right when I did that I lost the use of my purchased music. Does anyone know a way around that? And can someone please outline the steps for firewire transfer of the muisc library I only did it once and am a little rusty. Thanks all for any help!

If you boot one of the computers into target disk mode, transfer the file in Macintosh HD>Users>YourUser>Music. The file is called iTunes, and that will preserve the whole collection as if it were still on the old computer. THen, go back to the older computer and open iTunes click on Advanced, and then deauthorize computer. Now you can delete away and your good to go.
