Transfering iPod Warrenty, Help?

hey fellow macheads. ok here's the deal: im planning on selling my 3g iPod and want to make sure the warranty transfers over ok. its a 3g and i know the original warranty is still good. im not sure if ive registered it either, so i dont know if that makes a difference. Im hesitant to call apple mainly because im unsure if ive registered and i know apple support can be fickle and finicky about warranty stuff. Anyone have any ideas?

I had a simlilar situation when my iPod mini broke down. I live in australia so had got a friend to buy it for me in the US. Before I took it in for repair I just called up Apple (133622 in Aus) and transfered my registration to my name by quoting the serial number off the back of the iPod. That was it. Easy!
