Ill be moving from PC to macbook in a few days (finally im done with windows). I currently have A LOT of playlists on itunes and would like to avoid from manually re-doing every single one. Is there a way to get them over to my new macbook?

The playlists are in your iTunes Music Library XML file, so as long as you move that over when you move your music, all of your playlists will be preserved.

Fantastic. Does that file have all iTunes preferences saved in it as well?

I haven't really used Windows in many years, so I can't provide a detailed answer, but I can say that your iTunes preferences would not be carried over because they are characteristic of the application, not the library, and Windows and OS X handle application preferences differently. But it shouldn't take long to get iTunes on your Mac just the way you want it.
